Primary

Ages 6-12

A warm welcome to Wellspring Academy Primary!

At Wellspring Academy, we place God’s word at the heart of all teaching and learning. We believe that we must prepare our children so that they “may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3: 16-17). In this way, our mission is to educate and equip students to become highly skilled, Godly leaders, and agents of community transformation.

Each student in Primary is a unique masterpiece of God

—fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). We see them as seeds of greatness, filled with purpose, promise, and potential, created in God’s image to shine His light in the world. We are entrusted to nurture them with love, truth, and wisdom, guiding their growth like a gardener tending to a sacred vineyard. Every child, regardless of strength or struggle, is precious—worthy of patience, encouragement, and the chance to become all God intends them to be.

By the time they leave Primary, we want each student to:

  • Know their identity in Christ and live with confidence and compassion.
  • Think critically, solve problems, and communicate effectively.
  • Be responsible stewards of God’s creation and active contributors to their community.
  • Cultivate a lifelong love for learning, rooted in faith, curiosity, and integrity.

What is the primary school’s academic performance?

Wellspring Academy’s Primary School consistently demonstrates academic excellence, as evidenced by our students’ outstanding performance in the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint assessments. Year after year, our learners achieve remarkable results that reflect strong mastery in English, Mathematics, and Science.

Upon completing Primary, our students are well-prepared to transition smoothly into the Secondary Section at Wellspring Academy. Many also gain admission to leading schools across Rwanda and internationally. Our rigorous curriculum, grounded in biblical values and global standards, equips students with the knowledge, character, and confidence to thrive anywhere in the world. We are proud to be producing some of the best young minds in Rwanda.

What does a normal day look like?

A typical day in our classrooms includes:

  • Daily devotions, prayer, and scripture reflection to ground our hearts in God’s Word.
  • Interactive academic sessions that incorporate discussion, experimentation, and problem-solving.
  • Engage in hands-on math, science, or literacy activities using real-life applications.
  • Collaborate on group projects or problem-solving tasks.
  • Creative expression through art, music, and performance.
  • Physical activities and outdoor learning that promote wellness and appreciation of creation.
  • Journaling and group sharing to encourage personal growth and emotional intelligence.

Our ultimate goal is to help each child discover their God-given identity, develop a love for lifelong learning, and live out their calling with courage, compassion, and integrity.
